I took my day off and went to Melaka for a 2 days 1 night trip searching for abandoned place. One of the place that we managed to visit is this Marina Resort which is abandoned around 10 years ago.
We took a boat from this jetty @ . It’s RM12 for one person, two way trip. We hangout around the jetty for a while before the next ride come. Don’t look at the time schedule on the board it’s not accurate just wait near the boat area and there’ll be people shouting when it’s time for you to board the boat.
It’s just a normal speedboat that can fit around 30 person or more. Most of the people going there is for religious purposes. Well that’s not my purpose of this trip, we wanted to visit the abandoned place located at the other end of the island.
Once you arrived at the jetty you would notice the sea water is clear compared to the muddy water near the shore. It looks nice and the breeze is cooling even at this hot weather. You could take their “taxi” to the inner side of the island where most of the people would go which is the surau or the resort near the beach. It cost around RM2 per person. OR you could walk in yourself. Enjoy the scenery under the hot sun.
As you could see this is front side for the island where most of the walkway is paved with cement and planted with trees and so on.
When we settle down at the shop, we realized something we are hungry, so we ordered food and start dig in. Next we realized too, that we don’t know how to reach there. And so we started asking the local how to go there.
The first question they asked us back is,
“Why would you wanted to go there? It’s abandoned”
We just smiled and say just wanted to take some photos. Which is true. And they told us to rent a bike for RM15 one hour and drive through surau and reach there. They mentioned it’s around 5KM distance, hence bike.
And so we did rent a bike and start venture through the island. while we were driving through the cement pave way, we realized that this is actually a golf course which is abandoned too. The above photo is actually a lake but it’s dried out and left with cracked floor/mud.
You could see that this is part of the golf course which is abandoned and un-maintained. Nevertheless this is not the right way to the resort, so we head back down. Along the way there’s lots of split turn and climbing hills, you would need to venture yourself and guide yourself to the right way. The bike we rent is a bit faulty and it’s hard to climb up and the engine dies a lotta times.
After around 30 minutes of twist and turn we manage to bring ourselves to the right place, the Marina Resort. The first impression when we reach there is, hey it doesn’t look as abandoned as we though it would be. In fact it look so well maintained. Well that’s kind of true, most of the abandoned place we went all the metal was being taken away and sell off to others and this place is in the middle of sea and that’s why there’s still tons of metal door and complete.
We decided to drive in the neighborhood and check out one of the room. Everything look so high class here it looks really really sad that it was abandoned with all these facilities. All the outdoor unit of air conditioner is still intact. In fact I think they still works if there’s electricity being channel to there.
The garden is overgrown with vines and tree’s root. But other than that it looks, so clean.
I believe this is human-grown vines.
Oh you could see the bike that we took just parked there. xD Beware though there’s few bees that hangout with us when we walked around there. I believe there’s a bee hive near there. You don’t wanted to mess with them. At least I don’t wanted to.
Because the resort was build just facing the sea and you could have a great view on this resort. It look awesome during day and I believe it’ll look better at dawn or sunset.
Although we didn’t go and take the tour guide. We yolo all the way. xD
Well that’s all for now. Feel free to take a look at my flickr for more of above photos in higher quality.
