So I started my 12 days journey to Japan with a friend of mine Chris and I think I will separate out all the interesting stuff and put it in different post. I’ll put them all under the Japan Trip category.
I took the flight from KL 3PM and reaching there around 10:30PM (30 ~ 45 minutes earlier than we expected). The original plan is to actually sleep over at Haneda international airport. After a bit of discussion, foursquare checking in on the Airport itself, we decided to YOLO all the way to Shinjiku. Our hostel is at Asakusa line and the metro will be closed when we reach the transits station.
So we decided to take the Monorail (around 500 yen) and changed line, head to Shinjiku. Our destination? Internet cafe. We heard tons of them on internet and we never seen them before so, why not just test it out? Since we are in Japan.
It’s nearly 12AM when we reach Shinjiku station. Frankly speaking I never experience winter myself and the coldness is unbearable. I didn’t wear pants that’s thick enough and my legs are so cold that I wish I could just run to the destination.
We walked around the street and wondering around the place without knowing where’s the nearest Internet cafe is. We checked using our phone and found out there’s one nearby but have no idea where is it.
Then we found it after 1 hour of checking out empty street of Shinjiku. If you have no idea how to read Japanese, it says Internet Kisa. Means internet cafe. (I think that’s correct haha). And if you have no idea what the fuck is that, it’s an internet cafe where you could pay according to how long you wanted to stay, use the facilities they provided, IE computer, PS2 and so on. Usually you could read manga, (yes erotic too) and some even provide a place for you to bath.
The rate differ depends on which Internet cafe you went. The picture above shows the first internet cafe that we went. We went up and check out the counter. After a few hard attempt to communicate, apparently they need us to show them our passport with our living address in it. According to their “Japanese Government rules” they required the people who come to internet cafe to have show their IC/ID with living address in it. TOO BAD! Malaysian passport don’t have those. So we move on to next one.
So after a while I found the next one and apparently this one is okay with only showing our passport. He registered us with a free membership and gave us that card. So next time if I would to visit them again I just need to show them this card I could go in again.
We took the 5 hours package for twin room, 1000 yen each. Total 2000 yen for 5 hours one twin shared room.
After entering the small room, you can only sit down and use the computer. There’s no chair you, there’s two soft sitting padding where you could sit down. Of course we used it as pillow xD. Good news though they are using Windows 7 and not XP or 8/8.1 The computer is okay lar, not much game in it.
You could check out their video streaming service which is FoC, there’s tons of Anime, movie, Japanese drama and porn to watch. Yes porn. You could stream them until the night is over. Of course I didn’t watch them as I am too tired from the flight and also walking around.
Sleeping halfway I am actually being awaken by the coldness outside. The heater can’t reach the cubicle which we are staying it’s too corner. Making the situation worst is you could only sleep on the floor (with cushion) which I don’t think matters a lot cause hot air raises and cold air goes down.
As I walked around and check out the manga section, they have intensive amount of manga to browse. And I found three manga which is very interesting and currently reading it halfway.
I should have taken a overall shot of my cubicle but I did not because it’s too damn cold for me to think about it. Well that’s all about the internet cafe. Overall it’s very unique experience, you could sleep in it if you really outta idea where to go. I’ll link the Google map coordinate to this particular Internet Cafe if you are interested.
Some random video I took.
