So when I first moved to Japan and there are times that I need to use p2p software to download software, ISO file and such. And so I started to look around on the net for the most suitable or maybe I should say the service that worth the money the most.
What do I need?
I am not a hardcore user for the seedbox, I used it once a while to download data from the various private tracker and sometimes public tracker. Please do take note that all the review below are my own personal opinion and I am not being paid to review the services. I have personally paid for all the services and used them heavily myself.
So what do I wanted? I wanted a seedbox that can;
- Download from public tracker/private tracker
- Fast download/upload speed, if possible 1GBPS and above.
- large bandwidth limit.
- VPN, if possible.
- Direct download instead of FTP download
- SSH access, if possible.
- rTorrent with ruTorrent interface.
- A GOOD customer services
I am okay without these options;
- Large disk space, since I do not download a lot of media to seed.
- Unlimited bandwidth. Again I am not using this server to seed on a private tracker.
- the specific location of the server. I am okay with any server in any data centre.
- File Manager, since I usually just delete the file after I DD them to my computer via ruTorrent.
- additional script installation, FLEX etc. Once again I only use this server to download files from net and to my computer, I won’t be using it for other options. So your view might differ compared to mine.
- Sharing the server. This will be personal use server so I am not going to share the server with a couple of people, purchasing any dedicated/semi dedicated server.
The first impression on the website is, damn this website is cool. The website is slick and clean. I liked it. I did a quick google around on the review for this particular website, and most of them are giving them thumbs up because of the cheap price and the decent speed they have. Let’s take a look at the plan they provided, shall we?
A quick glance on the plan the thing that attracts me the most is actually the dirt cheap price for the plan. 5USD per month for 1Gbps connection? and unlimited bandwidth? That is too good to be true!
What attracted me the most are below
- Very fast connection speed (1Gbps)
- 72 hours refund policy
- Unlimited bandwidth
- Dirt cheap price!
- Public tracker allowed
And so I subscribed to the “Baby plan” immediately.
After the payment, they immediately send you the detail of your login via email.
They provide you with a text link to all other access, include shell access! (though I don’t think you have sudo access I can’t check this anymore since I can’t access it anymore)
You can also access the server information via the WHMCS panel. You can force shutdown/reboot or access the SSH access via here.
You can also check the bandwidth, disk and memory usage from this panel too!
And so I quickly added a couple of public torrent in it and try to download the files.
And… after a couple of hours, I come back and checked the rutorrent, apparently, I can’t access it anymore! Whao, what the heck happened? too much torrent to handle? maybe. I am not so sure.
I started to reboot the server via the panel, shut it down works but whenever I boot it up, you can’t access it anymore.
I submit a ticket and ask what happened since I can’t actually do anything from my side. After 3 days, I haven’t actually gotten any response from them I started to google around for more information. Apparently, people have this issue with their support, they are slow at responding. I noticed this and quickly closed this ticket and request for a full refund since they offer 72-hour refund. Funny thing is that within that 72 hours, I only used this server for less than few hours and it crashed, and to add salt to the would their support is non-existence.
I will give them benefit of doubt, MAYBE they don’t check the support site that often, MAYBE they will respond faster via Skype. On the website, the only two way to contact them is first, support site and second, via Skype.
I added them on skype and started my waiting game.
Till date (2018/11/28) there is still no response from them yet, either from the skype or the support site. I only used the server for a couple of hours and this happened. I would say this is the worst experience that I ever have with any seedbox provider. MAYBE they are decent when they started? but now their support is basically trash. Don’t get for it if you feel like throwing your money into the sea.
Today they finally replied my ticket after I threatened them that I am going to escalate this issue up to paypal. I am not so sure if they FINALLY noticed the issue after I stated that I am going to do that, OR they are back from dead, finally replying their customer. Either way, I am not going back to them anymore.
Don’t buy from them. My first impression on the server is pretty good. They have fast and decent download speed, to the server and to my house both are pretty good, but they don’t have support at all. So if your server is down or whatnot, you are better off finding a new service provider. In conclusion, don’t throw your money into the sea to them.
