We have the latest news from Danny Choo’s official Facebook page regarding a collaboration between his Smart Droll-brand and Warner Bros. The aim of the partnership is to bring the entertainment company ́s consumer products – mainly DC heroes and heroines – to life in the form of Smart Dolls. According to Danny, they will soon be releasing Super Girl, their first collaboration doll.
Danny speaks of the project as a “major milestone” for the Smart Doll brand he launched only five years ago and thanks Jun David for bringing Warner bros and smart doll together.
Due to global level of this partnership, he hopes to not only share more DC products with Japanese fans but also to introduce the rest of the world to the traditional Japanese elements which are part of his brand. According to him, their products are not only inspired by modern Japanese animation, but also by the uniquely Japanese principle of “Wabi-Sabi” (侘寂) – the concept and world view around accepting and appreciating the beauty of that which is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete.
Finally, Danny made sure to note that he and his team would parallelly be working on other characters from the DC Universe – asking fans to name the ones they would most love to see brought into doll-form.
Are you excited about this collaboration and could imagine owning a DC Smart Doll? Make sure to head to the comments and let Danny know which characters you would like to see featured in this new line!
